Free Indeed

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
— John 8:36

I love the words ‘free indeed’.  There is something so sure, so definite, and so inviting about them. Jesus has sent us all a personal invitation to live a ‘free indeed’ life.  I love it that He didn't say free, but said free INDEED! The benefits of such a life are wonderful - peace, joy, victory, balance, and best of all, passing all of this on to others. I want to take up everything Christ offers me and I know it pleases Him when I do. Let’s face it, He went to a huge amount of effort to make it available to me.

I wrote The Body Battle to help people find freedom in their relationship with food, exercise and any body related issues. Every time I receive feedback, it thrills me to think that this message is making a difference in someone’s world by helping others find their ‘free indeed’ life.

Body battles come in many shapes and sizes – literally! Constant dieting, over-exercising, self-loathing, body worship, health fanatics, or perhaps the other end of the scale with no self-care happening at all, are some that come to mind. These have the potential to develop into more serious and life-threatening issues such as poor health and disease, or perhaps bulimia and anorexia.

There is hope.  There is help.  There is ‘free indeed.’ I say that with great confidence because I have been a recipient for over 25 years.  It wasn’t always like that for me though. As a young adult I was caught in the trap of watching everything I ate, exercising like a maniac and doing my best to look my best.  My body took centre stage in my mind and world, and eventually I ended up weary and defeated.  Oh don’t get me wrong,  I looked good and I achieved results – but at the cost of having my thoughts, time and energy preoccupied with food, exercise and body image.

Enter the love and power of Christ, and everything changed – for the better!  He cares about every detail of our lives and loves us too much to leave us the way we are.

Free Indeed awaits you.  It is simply the love of God in action.

Love, Sheralyn.
