Depending on God within your business

Starting a business as a young woman… There is definitely a lot that I can say about that. When asked to write about that topic, I thought maybe I will give a motivating word on how to “just do it”.  But I’m sure you can search #motivation on Instagram and find enough there for days, so instead I am just going to give you a little quote from one of my biggest inspirations, Steve Jobs of course, as I think he can do a much better job in less words.

So here it is:

“When you grow up you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money. That's a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it… Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again.”

Instead I will share with you the importance of depending on God within your business!

When I started my business it came from more of a creative place rather than a desire to turn it into a money-making operation. But when things started to take off, it was so easy to think that I was creating this and making this money myself. It is just so different to having a job, in the way that you don’t just go to work come home and receive the expected amount in your bank account at the end of the week. And so when you are actually making / saving money, its all butterflies and rainbows like “Wooo! I actually MADE that money!”

I’m sure we have all heard the scripture from Colossians 1:16 that “For in him all things were created; through him and for him...” and it goes on. Sometimes it can be forgotten, but anything you create is actually a creation of God. Now let that sink in, have a cup of tea or some ice-cream, and just enjoy the weight lifting off your shoulders. Because the thing is, when it comes to striving, having ambitions, growing a business, whatever it may be, it is often way too easy to bash ourselves up when we aren’t doing so well. But see God never meant for us to be self-sufficient. He designed us, and everything that we create, and he designed us to need Him not only for daily bread but also for fulfillment in all things.

So, moral to this blog post; Depend on God, in all ways, submit to him what you may believe is yours because the secrets out and voila its actually not yours! But God is such a good God, when you go to him without pride, with your defenses down he will fulfill the desires of your heart, and bless you in unimaginable ways.

“God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus” – Philippians 4:19.
