Living a Life of Worship

I've been a part of C3 Music for 19 years and through many different situations of highs, lows, struggles, disappointments, stretching, triumph and so on, that we all go through in this thing called life. God has given us instructions to help us as Worshipers on our journey. I believe these are non negotiable's to stay in HIM and to help us keep longevity.

    Philippians 2:13

Our relationship with God must be number one throughout our journey. I know that sounds simple but it's often the thing that goes from being number 1 to 3 or 10 ( trust me I have struggled at times, especially with 2 young boys). It helps me see and love people through the lens of our father.

PRAYER gives birth to unseen. It helps us lift our eyes from our current situations/circumstances and see the future God has for us.  It’s like prophesying into our future. Everything always comes against me to not pray but when I turn off ALL distractions and be in relationship with Him, it refreshes my soul.

Reading THE WORD is crucial to protect our minds from the enemy and know who God is and who we are in Him. So our identity is caught up in HIM and not in our circumstance, position, man or even our gift.

It's how we fight our battles...

    Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

To do life with people, where we can serve one another, be vulnerable, accountable and have FUN! We can't do it on our own...

    As they say - F.R.I.E.N.D.S

    Fight for you.

    Respect you.

    Include you.

    Encourage you.

    Need you.

    Deserve you

    Stand by you.

It's important to not just focus on the task but on the people around you, your community and include them in your world.

In all we do whether it's Worship on a Sunday, going to Uni, being a full time mum or dad or working full time (just to name a few), we need to remember it comes down to relationship and community.

We also show this with our team and having a relationship with the congregation. They need to see that you are there for them and then they will trust you.

    1 Peter 5:5

The older I become, the less I feel like I know..

True humility is staying teachable, regardless of how much you already know

It's so important that we stay teachable with our gift but also in our hearts. I've often seen people receive a position and then assumed and demand respect. We only can earn people's trust  and respect by being humble and teachable in ALL we do. I've often heard that it's better to lose the argument and keep the friendship, then to be the friend that is always right!

Obviously we all have things to contribute and have higher qualifications or experience in areas but it's the spirit behind the actions and words we speak. The true heart attitude!

A clear picture that God gave me many years ago was ....

Dream Big and hold that dream with a hand that is open
